content guidelines

All content submitted to zine remains the sole intellectual property of the creators. Submission, publication, or display under zine does not indicate ownership on our (zine's) behalf.

All content should be your own, personal, non-AI generatred work. In combatting discontent, we urge all potential contributers to pull from the heart, the mind, the soul, and/or the ass (the noblest of all), in creating your submission. Resorting to using AI to generate your work wholly or in part indicates a lack of interest in whatever it is you are creating, and why should zine publish something you aren't willing to even create yourself? Be yourself, face whatever that means, and your art will be better than anything a generative model can push out.

There is no requirement you have to meet to have a piece featured on zine. All we ask is that you check your spelling (unless that's not your style), cite your sources (unless you're making stuff up), and be cool (this one's non-negotiable). zine is a publication dedicated to combatting our world's discontents. If your work reinforces, denies the existence of, or perpetuates any discontent (racism, sexism, ageism, homophobia and transphobia, etc.), then your piece will not be published and you will likely be prevented from submitting again.

formatting information

zine is a quarter-page zine, meaning that all pages are 4.25x5.5" (107.95x139.7mm). There are seven full-page spread opportunities with dimensions of 8.5x5.5" (215.9x139.7mm). It is recommended to leave a bleed space of 0.25" (6.35mm) around all margins to protect text or fine details from printer errors and differences in folding.

Include in your submission:

- title
the title of your piece, if it has one. if it does not, indicate whether or not the heading should be left blank or to show untitled in place of a title.
- name
your preferred name, your pseudonym, nom de guerre, and/or nom de plume. this is what will appear in your byline. you may also include your pronouns.
- your work
this could be in the body of the email or in an attached document, text or image, and be sure that it's the final version you would like us to publish. we will not correct typos or grammar.
- extra info
please include a means for me to link to your internet presence (social media, personal website, online store, etc etc.), and include anything that you feel might be important in the process of publishing--color profile, paragraph indents, etc etc--and we will try to accommodate in order to make sure your art is displayed in the way it was meant to be.

Please note that, while there are no space restrictions on the internet, the physical edition of zine will be limited in publication size. I will endeavor to fit all works I can into zine's physical incarnation, but sometimes that might not be possible. In those cases, a link will lead to the full piece hosted on this website. If you would like a physical copy of zine, reach out to the above email and I can help you out.
